Works resume on Kings Island Flood Relief Scheme

Work has resumed on the Kings Island Flood Relief Scheme.

WORK has resumed on the Kings Island Flood Relief Scheme (KIFRS) following the Christmas break.

According to the main contract for the scheme, Ward and Burke Construction, work on permanent fencing will continue over the next week or so at the St Ita’s Road site.

Storm sewer works will also commence while the Riverbank Walkway remains closed. Fisherman’s access will be maintained during construction.

In the Lee Estate/Athlunkard Boat Club site, construction will continue on Haul Road.

Foul sewer diversion works will also commence.

Meanwhile, permanent fencing will be installed in the Courthouse/Civic Building site.

Archaeological testing is also scheduled to begin in the coming weeks.
