CLASSICAL music lovers are in for a treat as the University Concert Hall announces the return of the Limerick Classical Concert Series.
Presented by Liz Nolan of RTÉ lyric fm, the series will feature three world-class performances from some of Ireland’s most acclaimed classical artists.
The series opens on Sunday, February 9 with an enchanting concert by pianist Michael McHale and clarinettist Michael Collins.
Their programme includes Brahms’ Clarinet Sonata No. 1, Weber’s Grand Duo Concertante, Beethoven’s iconic Moonlight Sonata, Poulenc’s Clarinet Sonata, and Rhapsodos by Abbie Betinis.
On Sunday, March 9 internationally renowned soprano Celine Byrne takes the stage for a breathtaking performance.
Audiences can expect beloved pieces such as Nella Fantasia, O Mio Babbino Caro, and Ave Maria, accompanied by David Munro (piano), Nicole Hudson (violin), and Siobhan Lynch (cello).
The series concludes on Sunday, March 30 with an unforgettable performance by the ConTempo Quartet. Their programme features Mozart’s String Quartet in D minor K.421, Rhona Clarke’s Pas de Quatre, and Beethoven’s String Quartet in E minor Op.59 No.2.
