Limerick’s Marion Kelly reaching for country music stardom

COUNTRY singer Marion Kelly from Limerick city will be flying the flag for her native Limerick when she appears on the new season of Glór Tíre.

Glór Tíre is the longest-running country music series on Irish television. Now in its 21st season, the show will be broadcast on Ireland’s national Irish language station, TG4.

The 2025 run will be aired in March and April, but the opening four episodes will be recorded on January 29 and 30 in front of an audience of fans and dancers.

At the recordings, Marion will sing solo and perform with her Glór Tíre mentor, Co Galway singer Mike Denver.

Marion will compete for the coveted title of Glór Tíre Country Music Champion 2025 against seven other talented performers.

Glór Tíre will be presented by Aoife Ní Thuairisg. The resident judges will be Jó Ní Chéide, from RTÉ Raidio na Gaeltachta, and singer Caitriona Ní Shuilleabháin. Each week, they will be joined by guest judges.

The public are invited to attend the recording sessions and dance the night away with sets from Cliona Hagan and Mike Denver (January 29) and David James and The Tumbling Paddies (January 30). The recordings take place in Stiúideo Telegael An Tullach, Baile na hAbhann, Co na Gaillimhe (H91 W319). To book tickets email [email protected].

Broadcast dates for Glór Tíre Season 21 on TG4 are Tuesday, March 4, 11, 18 and 25 and live shows on April 1, 8, and 15 at 9.30pm.
