TEENAGE musicians in Limerick have an opportunity to showcase their talents as Lava Javas Youth Café hosts its first Open Mic Night of the year on Friday, January 31, from 4-7pm. It marks the beginning of the journey to the 2025 Irish Youth Music Awards (IYMAs), offering young performers a chance to take the stage in a live setting.
The Open Mic Night welcomes singers and musicians from all genres, allowing them to perform either covers or original pieces. “We are looking forward to welcoming everyone to Lava Javas for our first Open Mic Night of the New Year,” said Emily Panter of Limerick Youth Service. The regional qualifiers for the IYMAs will be held at LYS later in 2025, with winners advancing to the national finals in May.
In addition to live performances, the event will provide information about the IYMAs, a prestigious youth music program that offers hands-on experience, industry connections, and personal development for emerging artists.
