FUN and cheer will fill the streets of Limerick this March as Limerick City and County Council have announced the theme of this year’s St Patrick’s Day parade.

A More Fun Limerick is the theme of this year’s festival, which will run from March 15 to 17, culminating with the annual St Patrick’s Day parade on March 17.

This year’s theme aims to highlight the vibrant and playful spirit of Limerick, promising a festival filled with joy, creativity, and community engagement.

A variety of events are scheduled, including the annual Band Parade on March 16, with a musical jamboree at Arthur’s Quay Park, the annual St Patrick’s Day parade, following the same route as last year, making its way down O’Connell Street before moving on to Henry Street and ending at Arthur’s Quay Park, while at the Crescent on O’Connell Street, there will be a universal access area for both parades.

Mayor of Limerick, John Moran said that the Limerick St Patrick’s Festival will aim to deliver more for Limerick.

“Delivering more for Limerick is the key ambition of Limerick City and County Council and that includes having more fun, so I am incredibly excited about this year’s St. Patrick’s Festival theme.

“‘A More Fun Limerick’ perfectly captures the essence of our community. It is why we all love living here,” Mayor Moran added.

Would-be participants in the St Patrick’s Day parade are invited to register their interest before the closing date of February 28, on Limerick.ie.
