LIMERICK TD Kieran O’Donnell has announced funding for minor flood mitigation and coastal protection works in Derraulin, Bruree, County Limerick.
The Fine Gael TD, through the Office of Public Works, announced €36,000 in funding for the works in Derraulin, approving the application of Limerick City and County Council, who will carry out and oversee the project.
The works will include widening and deepening the channel in Derraulin to restore and maximise conveyance capacity, a statement for the Office of Public Works confirmed.
The Minor Flood Mitigation Works and Coastal Protection Scheme, funding the works, was introduced in 2009.
Since then, 59 funding applications by Limerick City and County Council have been supported.
