Increased grants to allow older people in Limerick to stay in their homes

INCREASED grants for older people and those with disabilities to allow them to remain in their home have commenced.

Up to €40,000 is available to those with disabilities under the Housing Adaption Grant for Disabled People, while a maximum of €10,700 is available to older people as part of the Housing Aid for Older People Grant.

An increase has also been announced in the Mobility Aid Grant, which is now a maximum of €8,000.

Minister Darragh O’Brien said that “these grants make a real and significant impact on the lives of older and disabled people.

“The measures introduced ensure that the grants are fit for purpose”.
