Gardai and Desmond complex offer power share and a cuppa

Gardaí said they are making enquiries into allegations of similar attacks in Limerick in recent months.

BRUFF Gardaí have issued an invite to anyone who is without power as a result of the  winds in Storm Éowyn to come to the Garda Station to charge their phone or to get hot water.

In a message sent on on local media tonight (Saturday) Bruff Gardaí said “We have power here in the Bruff Garda Station… if any if you need to charge a phone (bring charger), hot water (bring flasks) etc etc… please call up…even if you just want a cuppa to warm yourself up!!!”

Meanwhile the  Desmond Complex in Newcastle West has joined up the local Gardaí in the town to help people out and they are proving similar facilities this evening. Locals can also bring food to heat in the microwave.

Inspector Gearoid Thompston said: “The Desmond Complex, Newcastle West in conjunction with NCW Gardaí have made their facilities available this evening for Teas, Coffees, Phone Charging etc. Anyone requiring hot water(bring your own flask) or microwave facilities will be made available till 12 midnight. We are currently here at the Complex so please come along. Please Share and let as many people know as possible.”
