A TECH company with a base in Limerick has announced the appointment of a new chief information security officer.
Viatel Technology Group, based in Castletroy, announced the appointment of Ed Heneghan as its new chief information security officer (CISO).
Mr Heneghan, a Limerick native himself, brings extensive experience to Viatel following his years at Henocon, a specialist cybersecurity firm, which he founded.
Sergiusz Paprzycki, head of networks at Viatel Technology Group, said that Mr Heneghan’s understanding of cybersecurity will be a key asset.
“We are delighted to welcome Ed to the role of CISO at Viatel. His deep understanding of cybersecurity threats and best practices will be invaluable to both Viatel and our customers.
“Enterprises face increasingly sophisticated cyberattacks and stringent regulatory requirements,” Mr Paprzycki said.
“Ed’s leadership will ensure we remain at the forefront of cybersecurity, enabling us to provide our customers with the most effective protection and support.”
Mr Heneghan said that he looks forward to joining the team and contributing to their mission.
“I am honoured to join a company with such a strong reputation for proactive cybersecurity. I look forward to contributing to Viatel’s mission of safeguarding customer information and systems, and helping organisations navigate the cybersecurity challenges of 2025 and beyond,” he said.
