WORK commenced on more than 1,000 new homes in Limerick in the last year.
That’s according to figures for January to December 2024 provided by the Department of Housing, showing 1,336 new homes commences across the county throughout last year.
Local figures make up just two per cent of the overall commencements across the country last year, with the Department reporting 60,243 commencements in all of Ireland in 2024 – a figure up 84 per cent on the 32,801 commenced in 2023.
