GARDAÍ in Limerick this past week issued a warning to the public about leaving cars unattended following an opportunistic theft in the South Circular Road area.
On Wednesday January 8, the owner of a white 2023 Volkswagen Polo turned on the car to let it defrost and went back inside.
An opportunist thief spotted the running car and took the vehicle while the owner wasn’t looking.
It was later located in the Coonagh area of the city.
Gardaí are appealing for information in relation to this theft, and have warned people to not leave their cars unattended while running at any time.
