GARDAÍ in Limerick have warned of road closures on the run up to the anticipated clash between Munster and Saracens at Thomond Park in Limerick City tomorrow (Saturday).
According to Superintendent Andrew Lacey, of the Limerick Division, there will be road closures from the Cratloe Road from its junction with Hassett’s Cross to the junction of the TUS roundabout before and after the match.
“A near capacity crowd is anticipated to attend this event, and we want to advise supporters that, due to the volume, the Cratloe Road from its junction with Hassett’s Cross to the junction of the TUS roundabout will close at 4pm before the game, and will also be closed for a period of time after the conclusion of the game,” Superintendent Lacey said.
“Diversions will be in place in the vicinity of Cratloe Road during these road closures, given the weather and road conditions experienced this week, please give yourselves additional time and arrive earlier to the ground and enjoy the pre match build-up.”
Superintendent Lacey said that local Gardaí wanted to “welcome any away supporters traveling from Saracens and An Garda Síochána Limerick will have a large presence around the ground and in the city, so we look forward to keeping you safe and assisting any way we can.”
“Enjoy the game and best of luck to Munster,” he concluded.
