FOUR Limerick projects were awarded government funding under the government’s Parent Peer Support Fund.
Southill Family Resource Centre are to get €5,000, while Dóchas Mid West Autism Support, Down Syndrome Limerick, and Hospital Family Resource Centre will all receive €2,000.
The fund aims to support the development of various parent peer support initiatives across the country throughout the new year.
The fund is part of Supporting Parents, A National Model of Parenting Support Services, which seeks to ensure that all parents are confident and capable in their parenting role, with the total value of the fund increased from €75,000 to €100,000 this year.
Common themes emerging from applicants cover areas such as support for single parents, breast feeding, and parents experiencing domestic violence.
