ELECTRO duo HousePlants—Bell X1’s Paul Noonan and electro-maestro Daithí—are back to light up the dance floor with their second album, ‘Half Known Things’.
Hot off their critically acclaimed 2021 debut Dry Goods and the vibey Seaglass EP from 2022, this pair is set to turn up the energy even higher with a record that’s equal parts heart and heat, designed to make you feel and move.
With a rep for dynamic, sweat-drenched performances at festivals like All Together Now, and opening for legends like Chic and Leftfield, HousePlants know a thing or two about creating sonic euphoria. For Half Known Things, they’re digging even deeper—blending their signature rhythm-driven sound with layered textures and live band elements, all while zeroing in on that communal dance-floor experience.
“This album was shaped by what we felt clicking live,” Noonan reflects. “With Dry Goods, we were sending tracks back and forth from our bunkers. This time, we got in the same room, catching the vibe together and deciding, ‘Will this make the people move?’ That was the north star.”
The result? A nine-track album that pulses with life and edge, full of lush beats and jagged, distorted textures that make each song feel like a live set, bottled and buzzing. From the explosive opener “In The Right Light” to the seven-minute epic “No Pushover,” Half Known Things is HousePlants capturing the wild spirit of their shows.
“Half Known Things feels alive in a way I’ve never experienced before,” Daithí says. “It’s messy, human, and real—everything that HousePlants is about.”
Standouts include ‘Swimming Pool,’ a feel-good anthem that captures the messy joy of life, and ‘My Love My Umbrella,’ a haunting ballad nodding to Irish author John McGahern, layering meaning under all that groove.
The HousePlants gig will be followed by an After Show Party on Dolans Upper Deck with DJ Eric playing Alternative/Rock/Disco til late. (Free Admission to the After Party)
