The RTÉ Choice Music Prize marks its 20th anniversary, celebrating the best in Irish recorded music. Since its establishment in 2005, the Prize has become a major highlight in the Irish music industry calendar, showcasing exceptional talent and elevating artists’ profiles.
This year’s Irish Album of the Year shortlist features ten records, chosen by an eleven-member panel of Irish music media professionals and industry experts. The nominated albums are:

Jim Carroll, co-founder and judging panel chairperson, commented that the longevity of the Choice Music Prize is a testament to the support and enthusiasm of Irish musicians.
“It’s quite something to be talking about the 20th outing of this event. We want to salute and thank the hundreds of musicians who have joined us along the way..” The winner will be announced during a live RTÉ 2FM broadcast from Vicar St on Thursday, March 6, 2024, featuring performances by shortlisted acts.
