FINE Gael councillor Liam Galvin has called on Limerick City and County Council to install speed ramps at the two entrances to Athea village.

He was informed by the local authority at a recent area meeting for the district that the Council has installed a raised platform at the Abbeyfeale junction in the village centre of Athea in December 2023.

“This location was agreed with the community council of Athea as being their preferred option of traffic calming.

“In any case any new proposals will have to comply with the traffic calming policy 2024,” said Senior Executive Engineer John Sheehan.
