EMERGENCY services are responding to a road crash in County Limerick, which has seen the Rourkes Cross to Charleville Road closed.
According to Limerick City and County Council, fire services are attending and an alternative route has been opened on the R518 Bruree to Kilmallock road and the R515 Kilmallock to Charleville road.
The Council has said that both routes have been ploughed and cleared.
In an earlier update on the condition of roads across the county, as snowfall continues to impact transport, the Council said that road crews are working in a number of areas.
The N69 between Askeaton and Ferrybridge is starting to hold snow, and road crews have been working to clear the roads.
The Council also urged care of snow lodging on the “regional road between Shanagolden and Ardagh”.
The regional road between Askeaton and Rathkeale is currently driveable, while the Glin to Athea road has a large build up of snow and is “almost impossible to drive”.
The local authority added that the “Ardagh to Athea via Carrigkerry has a large build up of snow. Please avoid.”
