RIVERSIDE walk enthusiasts have been warned that a stretch of the Three Bridges walk in Limerick City will be closed to the public to facilitate works to enhance the waterfront area.

That’s according to organisers of the Kingโ€™s Island Flood Relief Scheme, who said the stretch of walkway from the corner of the courthouse at Merchantโ€™s Quay up to the corner of King Johnโ€™s Castle is to be closed for the foreseeable future.

Works ongoing will โ€œfeaturing a stunning new look that will greatly enhance the Limerick riverfrontโ€ a representative of the scheme said, thanking river walkers for their โ€œpatience and cooperation as this vital project continuesโ€.

It is understood the works will feature new glassed railings, as pictured above.
