Munster toppled by Leinster

LEINSTER’S modern-day dominance over Munster continued at a sold out Thomond Park on Friday as the visitors cruised to a 27-8 URC victory.

Munster have not won against the opposition at Limerick since December 2018.

Leinster were 14-0 ahead at the interval but an early try in the new half from Tom Ahern – converted by Billy Burns – threatened to bring the contest alive only for Leo Cullen’s side to kick on again with Josh van der Flier crossing for a try soon after, one which was converted by man-of-the-match Sam Prendergast.

A late try from Caelan Doris (to which Ross Byrne added the extras) earned Leinster the bonus point.
