HOLIDAYMAKERS in Limerick were driven to despair after their car was stolen by opportunistic thieves.

That’s according to Crime Prevention Officer at Henry Street Garda Station, Sergeant Ber Leetch, who explained that the robbers may have snuck into the unsuspecting couple’s hotel room while they were out.

Sergeant Leetch said that when the couple returned to their hotel room, they discovered the patio door unlocked and their car keys – along with the car parked outside – stolen.

Nothing else was taken or disturbed.

She urged drivers to “bring (your keys) with you” when going out “or find a very clever place to hide them”.
