Two women arrested after €1.2m drug discovery at Shannon Airport

TWO women were arrested at Shannon Airport this Monday (December 23) with more than a million euro worth of suspected cannabis.

Gardaí confirmed this evening that the two women were detained at a Garda station in the Southern Region after they were found with 64 kilograms of suspected herbal cannabis at Shannon Airport.

It is estimated that the drugs haul is worth €1,280,000.

The two women were arrested by Revenue officers under the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

Gardaí said the women were aged in their 20s and 40s.
