LSAD exhibition brings colour to former Debenhams building

The exhibition is open until December 23.

A CHRISTMAS showcase from the students at Limerick School of Art and Design has been launched to help add a dash of colour to the festive period, with works from more than 100 talented local artists on show.

The annual student showcase is on display until December 23 at the former Debenhams store on O’Connell Street in Limerick City, and has seen the former shopping megastore transformed into a hub of creative expression.

The show offers the opportunity to help support local artists while shopping locally too this Christmas.

Lidija Savickaite, head of the LSAD Exhibition Society, said that she hopes the use of the former Debenhams store helps “show that these derelict buildings can become amazing community spaces and creative hubs”.
