Three Limerick green spaces given Green Flag Award

The three Limerick locations were awarded Green Flags.

THREE of Limerick City and County Council’s cherished green spaces have been honoured with the prestigious Green Flag Award for 2024.

The recognition highlights the management and environmental standards of Adare Town Park, Lough Gur Lakeshore Park and Visitor Centre, and The People’s Park.

The Council’s Head of Parks and Senior Executive Engineer, Carmel Lynch, said the local authority was “incredibly proud of the recognition our parks have received through the Green Flag Awards.

“These accolades reflect the hard work and dedication of our staff, volunteers, and the local community. We’re especially delighted that Adare Town Park has received its first Green Flag and that Lough Gur Lakeshore Park and Visitor Centre has been awarded a Green Heritage Site Accreditation.”
