GARDAÍ in Limerick are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision in the city this past Monday evening (December 16).

A man in his 20s, who was travelling on an electric motorbike, was discovered on the Kilmallock Road (Old Cork Road) with serious injuries at approximately 7.10pm following the smash, Gardaí have confirmed.

The biker was taken to University Hospital Limerick, and was later transferred to Cork University Hospital where he remains in a critical condition and under supervision.

The scene of the incident was still preserved by Gardaí this Tuesday  morning to allow for a forensic technical examination to take place, and local diversions were put in place.

Following the tragic crash and critical injury of the biker, only days out from Christmas, Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses who may have any footage or information relating to the crash to come forward.
