HEAVIER enforcement of bye-laws in relation to household and commercial waste bin storage on public footpaths, lanes, and thoroughfares has been called for in the city.
In response to Independent councillor Maria Donoghue at the recent Metropolitan District meeting, she was told by the Council executive that the Litter Enforcement Team take all practical measures for the prevention, control, and correct disposal of litter in the city.
“Under the Anti-Dumping Initiative a pilot project on laneway rejuvenation is being trialled by the city centre team and will include possible bin storage solutions for the laneway,” said the Council’s Director of Services for Environment, Kieran Lehane.
