LIMERICK is set to feel the cold snap tonight (December 10), as Met Éireann have issued a status yellow low temperature and ice warning.
The warning is set to come into effect from 8pm this evening (Tuesday), and runs until 11am on Wednesday morning.
The national forecaster are warning that it will be “very cold tonight with minimum temperatures of -3 degrees or lower”.
“A sharp to severe frost forming with icy stretches” are also possible, the forecaster said.
The status yellow warning covers Munster, Connaught, Cavan, Donegal, Monaghan, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Offaly, and Westmeath.
This status yellow warning is the first since a status orange warning was issued for Limerick on Friday last, with the county being battered by Storm Darragh.
