JP MC MANUS claimed his first Owner of the Year Award at the Racehorse Owners Association (ROA) Annual Awards at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, London, at the weekend.

The Martinstown man was honoured after his Grand National triumph with I Am Maximus in April.

The Aintree winner was also awarded the jumps special achievement award.

McManus, who was the leading owner in Britain last term, enjoyed a lucrative season with Grade 1 strikes with the likes of Jonbon, Fact To File and Inothewayurthinkin.

ROA president Charlie Parker said: “The awards are a chance for us to recognise and celebrate some of the outstanding performances made by our wonderful horses across this year, and it is wonderful to see the range of ownership entities and people that have been represented on the winner’s podium.”
