LIMERICK City and County Council, in conjunction with the National Transport Authority, is advancing plans to implement a Park and Ride facility near Mackey Roundabout.

In response to a question from Social Democrats councillor Elisa O’Donovan on footpaths at this month’s Metropolitan District meeting, councillors were informed by the executive that the Council will examine all options to facilitate such an objective to be serviced by high frequency public transport services.

“The National Transport Authority and Bus Éireann will be requested to ensure any review of the existing Connecting Ireland services on Newport Road, taking account of any demand for service from the residential areas represented at Grangewood, Richill, etc,” said Sean McGlynn of the Council’s Transportation and Mobility Directorate.
