LIMERICK GAA spent €2m on the preparation of its county teams in 2024, according to County Treasurer Seán Burke.

The Crecoa Manister official informed delegates to the Annual Conference that the sum was 16 per cent lower than last year.

This drop is partly due to Limerick’s non-qualification for this Summer’s All-Ireland Senior Hurling Final.

On the issue of local fixtures, Secretary Mike O’Riordan revealed that such is the shortfall of referees in the county that Limerick now relies on whistles from other counties to officiate at our matches.

He said it is “a most worrying situation.”
