RESEARCH PROJECTS at the University of Limerick were among those awarded funding in a countrywide €26million research initiative.
The funding, part of the Taighde Éireann Frontiers for the Future Programme, will support 40 research projects across 12 third-level institutions, focusing on areas such as environmental sustainability, electric vehicle batteries, and childhood neurological disorders.
At UL and across other Irish universities, Research Ireland hopes the funding will contribute to the country’s growing research capacity.
Funded projects include dog-collar sensors to signal and alert of impending seizures, studying preserved bog plants, and building biosensors in 4D food printing to indicate the stability of probiotics.
