Silvermines Folk Choir to host annual Christmas concert

The Silvermines Folks Choir

IS IT the first drop of snow, the berries on the holly, the ringing of sleigh bells, or is it the harmonious sound of the Silvermines Folk Choir in concert that really starts Christmas?

Growing steadily with many new members this year, the Silvermines Folk Choir will perform its annual Christmas concert on Sunday December 8 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Silvermines (E45TD35).

“2024 was a fabulous year for the choir who led the Killaloe Diocese Pilgrimage to Lourdes in the summer and where we had the great privilege to join with the Limerick Diocese at the cathedral in Lourdes in song and worship,” a representative of the group said.

“All who were part of that pilgrimage will testify to what a joy it was to travel with the choir and hear them perform not just in the chapels and cathedrals but also on the streets and even in the hotels over that summer’s week. Great friendships were formed with the people of Limerick and Clare on that trip, and we hope they can join us again this Christmas.”

This year’s Christmas concert will feature many well known Christmas carols, some nostalgic classics, and a few more modern numbers being performed across the choir and its many soloists. A great night is assured for all.
