CROWDS of people lined the streets to watch Limerick’s Georgian Quarter transform into a winter wonderland at the weekend as the renowned LUXe Theatre Company brought their ‘Magical Winter’s Tale’ to life.

Beautifully costumed characters and elegant sculptures lit up the Georgian streets, setting the perfect tone for the festive season.

The illuminated procession was part of the Christmas in Limerick programme of events, organised by Limerick City and County Council, in association with media partners the Limerick Post, Live 95, Spin Southwest, and the Limerick Leader.

Thousands flocked to the streets of Georgian Limerick to see the Christmas extravaganza, which saw a local city bus marked with the destination ‘North Pole’ promising to transport parade-goers into a world of festive delights.

Lights and colour filled the Georgian Quarter as LUXe performers trooped through Pery Square, The Crescent, O’Connell Street, and Barrington Street, as huddled together onlookers were filled with festive cheer.
