THE LADIES of the Monaleen-Milford Active Retirement Club flaunted their style hosting a fabulous fashion show, putting the creativity and confidence of its members front and centre.
The fab fashion event, which transformed the Monaleen GAA Clubhouse into a stylish runway for one night only, featured club members as models, showcasing an array of elegant outfits and infectious smiles.
Founded in 1997, the Monaleen-Milford Active Retirement Club has a long-standing tradition of promoting social engagement, lifelong learning, and active living among its members in their retirement.
Beyond the runway, a representative of the club told the Limerick Post that members enjoy a variety of regular activities when they’re not strutting their stuff on the catwalk, including pilates, quizzes, flower arranging, and educational talks on topics like health, wellness, and local history.
Members also head away on regular outings to cultural sites, theatres, and other seasonal events.
Run entirely by volunteers, the Monaleen-Milford Active Retirement Club aims to foster meaningful connections in a welcoming environment.
Sending out a call to retirees in the area who might be interested in joining, a club spokesperson said that meetings are held every Monday from 11am to 1pm at the Monaleen GAA Clubhouse, and new members are always encouraged to join in the fun.
Whether learning a new skill, testing out a turn on the catwalk, or simply meeting new friends in retirement, the club says it is open to new members. To learn more about joining in the fun, call 01 873 3836.
