BY VIRTUE of superb free-taking accuracy, Mungret St Paul’s are through to an historic All-Ireland Junior Ladies Football Championship Club Final.

On Saturday, under the captaincy of Áine Ryan, the Limerick and Munster team won in a shoot-out away to Coolera Strandhill (Sligo).

After the sides had tied following extra-time, ice-cool trio Gráinne McKenna (who scored an astonishing 0-6 in the match itself), Carol Bateman and Fiona Morrissey found the range to send John Horgan’s charges into a national showdown on Sunday week.

The starting team for Mungret St Paul’s was: Carol Bateman; Caoimhe O’Neill, Laura Dunne, Mairead Clancy; Shannon Burke, Cameryn Moloney, Jillian Buckley; Clare O’Meara, Áine Ryan, capatin; Emma O’Rourke, Gráinne Mc Kenna, Niamh Crowley; Jayne Casey, Aoife Morrissey, Niamh O Keeffe.

Substitutes introduced: Fiona Morrissey, Yvette Culhane, Claire Coughlan, Megan O’Malley, Sarah Horgan, Jennifer O’Malley and Katie O’Mahony.
