AFTER count eight here at Limerick Racecourse, it’s all still to play for as no one has yet reached the quota on this count.
Independent Frankie Daly has been excluded after this count, and his 2,677 votes will be distributed among the remaining candidates in the race.
Maurice Quinlivan (SF) looks on course to retain his Dáil seat by early evening, now sitting at 7,528 votes, just under 1,000 votes shy of the 8,435 quota.
Sitting TD Kieran O’Donnell (FG) is on 6,600 votes after this count with the third seat in Limerick City looking decided at this point.
Labour’s Conor Sheehan has picked up 558 votes from the last excluded candidate, Green Party’s Brian Leddin, bringing him to 3,549 votes, trailing just behind Soc Dems candidate Elisa O’Donovan’s 3,825 votes, meaning the race for the fourth seat is far from certain.
There may also be a late claw back from Dee Ryan (FF) or Maria Byrne (FG), currently on 3,222 and 3,082 votes respectively, after distributed votes from Independent councillor (formerly Labour) Frankie Daly are handed out.
Last now in the race is Aontú’s Sarah Beasley, who has 2,786 votes.
