SINN Féin councillor PJ Carey has asked Limerick City and County Council for an update on his motion last March regarding the railway station in Kilmallock.
Cllr Carey wanted to know if Iarnród Éireann has been contacted by the local authority’s Property Management section.
He was informed that they are in the process of calculating estimated costs in relation to the connection of services such as water, sewer, and power to the building.
The Council anticipates that these costs would be “substantial”.
“Contact has also been made with Iarnród Éireann to ascertain if they have a structural survey undertaken on the building.”
