APRIL Sheehan Corkery has announced that she will contest this Friday’s general election as an independent candidate.
The County Limerick woman has described her run as being on a “left anti-establishment platform”.
She describes herself as being a candidate for those who “don’t want to back the assorted chocolate box of right wing extremists or attacks on rural Ireland and the working class from the likes of the Greens or Labour”.
If elected, she says she would “only take the median wage out of the TD salary … and put the rest into a housing and cooperative enterprise fund for County Limerick”.
