Mid West businesses honoured at Limerick Chamber business awards

A LOCAL company has taken home the top award from the Limerick Chamber Regional Business Awards.

DesignPro Automation, which delivers bespoke solutions for clients across the medical devices, robotics, and automotive industries, was named as Overall Business of the Year at the awards.

The Rathkeale-based company also won Best SME Business of the Year, fighting off stiff competition from companies from across the Mid West.

Redmond McDonnell, CEO of Design Pro Automation, said that the peer recognition from Limerick Chamber was special to the company.

“We’re absolutely delighted to win this award. We’ve built our team over many years in County Limerick, and to get this peer recognition from the local Chamber and the Mid West community is really special,” he said.

“It gives us the confidence to build on our strategy, grow our existing customer base, and onboard new med-tech customers. It’s a stamp of approval for us, and that helps us to drive on.”

The President’s Award went to Milford Care Centre which provides specialist palliative care and older persons’ services in the Mid West. The award was presented to the centre’s CEO Mary O’Brien by Taoiseach Simon Harris.

Other winners on the night included DGD Shredding, who took the prize of Sustainability Leadership Award, Elite Talent Hub who took home the prize in the Best Emerging Business category, WrxFlo, who were given the Innovation Impact Business Award, while Helium Arts were crowned with the Best Not-for-Profit Award.

The University Concert Hall was crowned with the Excellence in Customer Service Award, Serosep Limited took home the top prize in the Best Employer Champion of Employee Wellbeing and Development, while Moore Limerick were honoured for with the Best Contribution to the Community.

CEO of Limerick Chamber, Michelle Gallagher said that “these businesses are part of the fabric of this great region and it’s so important for them to get this independent recognition and validation from our panel of judges. I’d like to extend a huge congratulations to everyone here tonight on an exceptional year in business.”
