Local choir celebrate success at Prague International Choir Festival

The Killaloe Male Voice Choir are celebrating success at the Prague International Choir Festival.

A LOCAL choir have had success at the Prague International Choir Festival.

The Killaloe Male Voice Choir returned home from the festival with two bronze awards in the Folk and Sacred Music categories, having competed against 18 choirs from 10 countries.

Pat Carroll, choir PRO, said that “we’re thrilled by this achievement. It reflects the choir’s talent and hard work under the expert guidance of Musical Director, Anne Cullen”.

Founded 10 years ago, the Killaloe Male Voice Choir now has 30 members, founded by Rory McGrath.

The group were also honoured with a reception hosted by Alan Gibbons, Ireland’s Ambassador to the Czech Republic.
