The Wedding Singer – Lime Tree Theatre. Presented by The Cecilian Musical Society

An Introduction to the Science of Chocolate – G10, Mary Immaculate College. An exciting talk from Norma Kelly (Praline- Pastry and Chocolate Shop) delving into the fascinating world of chocolate with chocolate tastings.

Mickey Dunne: A Tribute – Belltable. Celebrating one of Limerick’s finest musicians, the world-renowned piper, Mickey Dunne. He is steeped in the Traveller music tradition of his family, spending his youth travelling around playing music at various Fleadhs, Munster finals and Galway races. Inspired by his father Paddy who was a great fiddle player, he has in turn passed the music on to his daughters Niamh and Bríd, both of whom are also very well-known accomplished musicians.

Screening: Elf – University Concert Hall. Buddy was a baby in an orphanage who stowed away in Santa’s sack and ended up at the North Pole.After being raised as an oversized elf, Buddy travels from the North Pole to New York City to meet his biological father, Walter Hobbs, who doesn’t know he exists and is in desperate need of some Christmas spirit. Directed byJon Favreau, and starring Will Ferrell, James Caan, and Zooey Deschanel.

The Quarter Dozen – Dolans. The Quarter Dozen is an instrumental trio blending traditional, classical, jazz, and Latin influences into original compositions. With piano, drums, and woodwind, they create a dynamic and immersive soundscape that bridges diverse musical worlds, delivering performances rich in rhythm, melody, and innovation. With support from Moses McGuinness singer-songwriter that can be found performing behind the piano and guitar. Moses has written three albums and an E.P with his band Protobaby but is now taking some time to focus on solo music. Moses released his debut E.P. Lost At Sea in June.

IFI Screening: The Apprentice – Belltable. The rise of New York real estate mogul Donald Trump in the ‘70s and ‘80s is explored in Ali Abbasi’s richly entertaining and insightful biopic.

TUESDAY 26

Banbha Quartet – Castleconnell Concert Series – All Saints Church, Castleconnell. For their fifth tour they present popular masterpieces by Beethoven and Schubert alongside a new work by Donegal fiddler turned renowned composer Seán Doherty. Inspired by the mix of Irish and Polish musicians in the Banbha Quartet, Sean’s latest string quartet celebrates the Mazurka, originally a Polish folk dance, made famous by Chopin’s piano works and also incorporated into the Donegal fiddle tradition.
