LIMERICK City and County Council has been asked about the possibility of erecting dog fouling signage in green areas and parks in Kilmallock, advising dog owners that these areas are also children’s play areas.
Fine Gael councillor Greg Conway also asked at a recent local area meeting that signage state that dog fouling is a public health issue and to advise of the penalties attached under Section 22 of the Litter Pollution Act 1997.
Cllr Conway also asked about the erection of dog fouling combi bins.
The Council said it will review the green areas in Kilmallock town and request the litter warden to schedule some patrols of the area.
