SCOTTISH post rockers, Mogwai will perform Live at The Big Top at Limerick Milk Market on Friday July 25. Tickets go on sale Friday November 22 at 10am from www.dolans.ie
The band have been together for nearly three decades and have never performed in the city. After performing to thousands at the inaugural festival In The Meadows last June this promises to be one of the shows of the summer.
Mogwai, formed in Glasgow in 1995, is composed of Stuart Braithwaite (guitar, vocals), Barry Burns (guitar, piano, synthesiser, vocals), Dominic Aitchison (bass guitar), and Martin Bulloch (drums). Over their nearly three-decade career, the band has released ten studio albums, with their latest, As The Love Continues (2021), achieving critical and commercial acclaim. The album topped the album charts, earned a Mercury Prize nomination, and won the prestigious Scottish Album of the Year award.
In addition to their albums, Mogwai has contributed to and composed scores for high-profile projects with platforms such as Amazon Prime and Apple TV+. Earlier this year, the first-ever documentary about the band, Mogwai: If The Stars Had A Sound, directed by longtime collaborator Antony Crook, was completed. A collaboration between Blazing Griffin, Adler Entertainment, Rock Action Records, and Screen Scotland, the film had its world premiere at South by Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, Texas, in March 2024. It is currently being showcased at film festivals worldwide, offering fans a deeper look into the band’s storied career.
