Lee on the mark in Cheltenham

Billy Lee of Ballingarry guided favourite Magical Zoey (11/2) to a clear cut victory in the featured £500,000 Sky Bet Ebor on Saturday.

IN A rare Cheltenham appearance, Billy Lee of Ballingarry scored aboard Seo Linn in the Listed Mare’s Open National Hunt Flat Race at the weekend.

It was only the fourth ever outing around the Cotswolds for Lee.

He first rode at the venue way back in 2005 (conditional jockeys’ handicap hurdle) and subsequently in the Coral Cup (2008) and most recently in the 2011 Triump Hurdle with Mister Carter.

Seo Linn, returned on Saturday as a well-supported 5/2 favourite, is trained by one of Lee’s biggest supporters, Paddy Twomey of Golden in county Tipperary.
