DON’T put your posters on our poles.
That was the message from ESB networks to candidates in the upcoming general election, warning that affixing posters to electricity polls is strictly prohibited as it poses a “serious safety risk”.
The utility has warned that it previously had to interrupt electricity supply to homes and businesses in order to safely remove posters, explaining that, in the past, posters attached to poles have previously caused poles to catch fire and fall.
ESB Networks added that “attaching anything to electricity poles exposes individuals to the risk of electric shock, burns and falling from a height”.
