WITH an impressive 29-10 home bonus point defeat of Mallow at Liam Fitzgerald Park, Thomond have extended their lead at the top of the Munster Junior League.
Defending Champions Thomond continued their impressive start with another bonus point victory, this time they defeated Mallow 29-10 at Liam Fitzgerald Park.
Joshua Dillon, Dean O’Brien, Aidan Quinlivan and Tommy Hourigan (his first for the team) were try scorers for the defending champions, while the ever-accurate Jason Kiely kicked three conversions and a penalty.
Elsewhere, bottom of the table Thurles caused a surprise at Grove Island defeating St. Mary’s 24-21. Paul Loughran grabbed a brace of tries for the Saints and Keith Hyland nipped in for one. Adam Guerin converted all three tries.
A late try by Nigel Clancy converted by Brian Mullins saw Richmond snatch a 21-17 victory away to Kanturk. Lee Bennett and Ross Wall were Richmond’s other try scorers and Mullins and Jack Cross each kicked a conversion.
