FINE Gael councillor Gregory Conway has called on the Council to extend the footpath from Abbeyowney Estate, Murroe to the village, for safety of all road users and pedestrians.

Cllr Conway was informed at a recent Cappamore-Kilmallock area meeting that the extension of the footpath has been a priority for the Council.

“Land acquisition is required and securing agreement on this matter has not been achieved to date.

“The Cappamore-Kilmallock office in conjunction with the Limerick Active Travel office are examining the possibility of making the road from Abbeyowney to the village a shared space,” Senior Executive Engineer Trevor McKechnie explained.
