WITH a bang, a whizz, and a roar, the Ballyhoura Annual Science Fair is set to return on Shannonside this coming Saturday.
November 16 will see the return of the popular science fair, which kicks off from 10.30am at the Croom Sports Complex.
The free event aims to teach the young and the young at heart more about how sustainable development goals are linked to science, with plenty of chances to pick up fun prizes across the day.
For the brave, there will be a chance to meet live snakes and reptiles with The Animal Roadshow. Or those who like to keep it a little safer can attend the farm safety workshops using virtual reality headsets with Agrikids.
Visual spectacles will also abound with the 360-degree Dome Cinema, transporting guests on a trip through time and space.
For those who like to keep their feet on solid ground, there will be lessons on engineering with Lego from Bricks4Kids, allowing a safe space to let creativity flow.
There will also be an opportunity to savour healthy snacks, school lunches, and slow cooker meals at the Community Food Initiative Stand, including demos from food experts at various times throughout the day.
The SEAI Guzzlers Team will be on hand to teach kids where energy comes from.
The fair will also feature an ASD-friendly hour from 10.30am on the day.
Organisers say that all ages are welcome to attend. Registrations can be made on ballyhouradevelopment.com/Event/ballyhoura-science-fair-2024-fun-for-all-the-family.
