TWO Treaty United players, namely Madison McGuane and Aibhlinn Cotter, are part of the Republic of Ireland squad partaking in the Women’s Under-17 Euro Qualifiers in Spain.
Aside from the hosts, James Scott’s team will also meet Austria and Denmark.
Men’s coach with Treaty, Dave Roony is part of the backroom team.
McGuane is nominated as International Player of the Year at both Under-15 and 16 level, while clubmate Katie Lawlee is shortlisted at Under-17 grade.
Treaty United CEO, Ciara McCormack said the club was very proud of the girls’ achievements.
“The club is extremely proud of the work that the players and coaches are putting in that is leading to the recognition that Madison and Katie have been given, being named the top three of players in the country at their age, and for Madison and Aibhlinn to be representing Ireland at an important competition in Spain,” said Ciara McCormack, Treaty United CEO.
“Even more importantly to us, all three are wonderful people and role models to everyone in the club. We’re looking forward to continuing to support their journey and cheer on their success, now and undoubtedly into the future.”
Treaty United Senior Women’s Manager Seán Russell added: “Having seen how hard these players work every week, it is great to see both Madison and Katie getting the recognition at such a prestigious level. They are fantastic role models for all the players in our club.
“All involved here at Treaty United are very excited to watch the U17 International qualifiers. All the staff and players are very proud to have Madsion and Aibhlinn represent the club on the international stage and we wish them, their team-mates and all the staff the very best of luck.”
