THE Limerick Quimper Twinning Committee presents its first-ever Film Exchange event this Saturday November 16 at 7pm at the People’s Museum of Limerick. This evening will celebrate Irish and Breton culture through film, music, and a live connection between the two cities.
Five short films from Limerick and Quimper will screen simultaneously in both locations. The Film Exchange is more than just a cinematic experience; it’s a cultural bridge built on storytelling, shared heritage, and the unique Celtic traditions that connect Ireland and Brittany. A highlight of the night includes a live link-up between Committee Secretary Mark O’Connor in Limerick and Lionel Poiraudeau in Quimper.
Mark, a long-time friend of Quimper, says, “This event is a wonderful way to share our storytelling and filmmaking traditions. It should be fun to chat with the French side too. They’re having an Irish session to close out their event, and we’ll have a few Breton and French tunes on our side to reciprocate.”
Admission is free, with donations welcome. Reservations can be made on Eventbrite.
