MUNGRET St. Paul’s are the Muster Ladies Junior Football Champions after a merited 0-7 to 0-5 win over Midleton of Cork in a tense final in Mallow.

As can be read from the full-time score, this was a contest in which scores were at a premium.

Those vital points for the Limerick side arrived, however, through the likes of player-of-the-match Gráinne McKenna (0-3), Jayne Casey and Fiona Morrissey.

With the contest in the melting, the winning pair of points came courtesy of impact substitutes Yvette Culhane and Claire Coughlan.

A solid defence was at the heart of this tremendous win by John Horgan’s impressive bunch, under the admirable captaincy of Áine Ryan.
